 Cooper-Avon Tyres Cricket Club
About Us

Cooper-Avon Tyres Cricket Club (Cat CC) is a section of Cooper-Avon Tyres Sports & Social Club and it is situated in the grounds of this large sports/social club complex. Cat CC has use of the sports & social clubs excellent facilities for after game entertainment and formal club activities (annual dinner/functions, AGM etc). During games a refurbished pavilion caters for all playing needs (changing, showers, teas etc).

Full time employees of the sports & social club do all the preparation and maintenance work on the cricket pitch (both outfield and square). Any maintenance work needed on the cricket pavilion is arranged by the manager of the sports & social club.

The club fields 1st and 2nd XI's on Saturday's which play in the Wiltshire Cricket league.

In conjunction with the Institute of Groundmen, the club has been the venue for Groundsmanship courses. In recent years the club has been honoured with Best Pitch award no fewer than eight times.

Each year a Kwik cricket tournament for all Melksham junior schools is held. It is well supported by teachers and parents, it has the backing of the County Cricket Development Officer. The boys and girls who take part all enjoy themselves.

The clubs facilities have been utilised by the County Cricket Development Officer for Wiltshire cricket Quiz nights.

Pre season indoor Nets are held each year, normally during March and early April.

One of Cat CC's main objectives is to play cricket at a higher level and as such the club needs to develop accordingly. To achieve this more qualified coaches are needed and new players are always welcome.
